What is Vein Therapy?
The first step in treating veins is to determine if you are a candidate for vein therapy. Dr. Cantrell will discuss your medical history with you and then examine your veins. For some people, cosmetic vein therapy is not an ethical treatment.
If you qualify for treatment, Dr. Cantrell will determine the best therapy or combination of therapies for your specific situation. The laser is always the first choice because the results are immediate and more veins can be treated in a single session. However, not all veins are ideally suited to laser therapy and those will be treated with sclerotherapy. This consists of injecting a small amount of medicine into the vein causing the vein to collapse over time and disappear.
What determines the number of treatments? The number and types of veins that have to be treated and how well they respond to the therapy. We typically see effective results in over 98% of the veins treated during a single session. If you are a person who is prone to developing these superficial veins, you may need annual touch-ups to maintain your vein free look. Otherwise, many people can go years without further treatment.

is it REALLY Botox?
You'd think that after the problems Florida had a few years ago that this kind of thing would not still be happening, but it is. We've had patients describe treatments that didn't sound like the Botox reconstitution was done correctly and some with results that don't make sense from our experience with the product.
